"Pastel Water – The Great Blue Heron"

This incredible photograph was taken in Cape Coral, Florida.  Beautiful and graceful, the Great Blue Herons grow up to 4 feet tall with a 6-to-7 foot wingspan.  Hollow bones allow it to weigh only 5-to-6 pounds.  

About the artist: Eddie Miller

As an engineer, Eddie has an eye for detail and has always enjoyed capturing moments on camera.  After Hurricane Ian hit, he set out with his largest lens to capture the North-West Cape Coral wildlife scene.  They did not disappoint!  Even with debris in the water and our area in tatters, he was able to capture the beautiful wildlife that still remained. One of the most common questions he is asked when he picks up his developed pictures is, “Is that picture real?"  The answer is yes!    

His passion for photography and his wife Jennifer's devotion to Cape Coral Animal Shelter make these pictures donated with kindness to our beloved animals in the shelter even more meaningful.
